This recipe is made with Coconut oil, Olive Oil, Vitamin E Oil, Beeswax, Shea Butter, and Zinc Oxide.
Coconut Oil has natural antibacterial and antifungal oil and moisturizes and nourishes and protects the skin. It has anti-inflammatory properties due to its high lauric acid levels.
Olive Oil moisturizes and soothes dry irritated skin. Its antioxidants repair skin damage, remove dead skin cells, and prevent pimples, blemishes, and blackheads.
Vitamin E Oil protects skin cells from UV rays, pollutants, and other environmental damage. Its anti-inflammatory properties help soothe sunburned skin and reduce redness. It also neutralizes free radicals. It can improve skin health and help dark spots, which can be triggered by sun exposure.
Shea Butter protects from the sun's UV rays and helps neutralize free radicals that can cause cell damage and premature aging.
According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, Zinc Oxide works as a barrier to block and scatter UV rays before they can harm your skin, which makes zinc a good sunscreen. Some users also like zinc oxide because it's considered noncomedogenic -- does not block pores.
Carrot Seed Oil has a natural SPF of around 38–40 and is a popular ingredient in natural sunscreens because of its ability to protect skin from sun damage. It contains carotenoids, vitamins, and antioxidants that can help prevent free radicals and improve the body's immune response to UV rays. Carrot seed oil can also help promote an even skin tone.
Myrrh Oil can help protect your skin from the damaging effects of UV radiation.
Lavender Oil can help soothe and calm irritated skin and reduce redness, swelling, and itching.
Peppermint Oil provides protection against the sun's UV rays.
