Have you ever felt alone? Ya, me too...
Did you know we were never meant to be alone unless we sought it out away from a tribe, community, or companions? Life was meant to live in community. Not just family communities, but intimate relationships. Not just sexual, but true emotional intimacy.
The intimacy….break it down. Into. Me. See.
We were meant to journey with others through life. We all need mentors, we all need companions, we all need friends, we all need people to care about us and we need people to care about.
Sometimes we struggle and we need ask for help so someone can have compassion on us. Compassion literally means “to suffer together.”
When we share our internal problems is one of the most liberating things – knowing that others are struggling with us…
There is an old saying: If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.
Ask for help. Not because you are weak. But because you want to remain strong. – Les Brown
Asking for help is a quality of the strong…
If you want to achieve goals, one of the best ways is to ask those who have attained those goals. You can ask them – HOW DID YOU DO THAT?
When we ask, we can learn.
No matter what challenge you are going through, there is someone somewhere that can help you!
Ask friends, doctors, psychologists, nutritionists, spiritual directors, pastors, coaches, therapists, ask people!
Sometimes we worry about burdening people, but people DO want to help…we just need to find the RIGHT people.
Think about a breath….we inhale, and we exhale, right? We need BOTH to live well, correct?
Consider this when you are doing for others…that is exhaling.
But also know you MUST inhale and allow others to help you.
